You Can't Take It With You Well you might be born with a silver spoon, have the means to reach the moon. Own mansions in chelsea, apartments in manhattan, when you jump, people make it happen, but for all of the riches you have on show, there’s just one thing you should know. Well you can't take it with you you can't take it with you you can't take it with you When you go Be you tycoon or mogul or the offspring of Paul Getty, a house on the beach, a yacht on the jetty. Be dripping in diamonds from your head to the toe, drive your Bently wherever you go, well there's just one thing that you should know Well you can't take it with you you can't take it with you you can't take it with you When you go When your time is up and the reaper has arrived, he won't take your wallet, he won't take a bribe. He dont care for colour or creed, and it won't matter how hard you plead. He’ll just remind you to reap what you sow, and there's just one thing you should know. Well you can't take it with you Well you can't take it with you Well you can't take it with you Well you can't take it with you Well you can't take it with you When you go What’s Life Meant To Be?

Loneliness 04:51
Loneliness creeps in when I'm asleep. Loneliness lurks in every corner Loneliness hides deep beneath my floor, well that's all you left when you walked out of that door. All my wishes tied up in kisses, planted on another man's cheek. All my tomorrows, laden with sorrow I struggle each day of the week. Memories lie restlessly beside me. Memories are spoken on the phone. Memories sit beside the fire. Oh those memories make me feel alone. All my wishes tied up in kisses, planted on another man's cheek. All my tomorrows, laden with sorrow I struggle each day of the week.

S.W.I.N.G if its got that rhythm it'll do for me I like my music when it swings S.W.I.N.G well like the monkeys in the trees, I’m happy swinging all day long I only have to hear a verse or 2 And then my feet know just what to do now baby yeah! S.W.I.N.G if its got that rhythm it'll do for me I like my music when it swings S.W.I.N.G well like the monkeys in the trees, I’m happy swinging all day long S.W.I.N.G if its got that rhythm it'll do for me I like my music when it swings S.W.I.N.G well like the monkeys in the trees, I’m happy swinging all day long When I first saw her my heart missed a beat. I’ve never seen such rhythm in my feet now baby yeah! S.W.I.N.G if its got that rhythm it'll do for me I like my music when it swings S.W.I.N.G well like the monkeys in the trees, I’m happy swinging all day long You call it, I'm there, it's something we share! S.W.I.N.G if its got that rhythm it'll do for me I like my music when it swings S.W.I.N.G well like the monkeys in the trees, I’m happy swinging all day long

Stay Young 04:01
Don't lose that boy. Save the child. Keep your thoughts. Running wild. I don't know what you've been told but staying young is the best way of growing old. Kick off those shoes. Jump the stream. Keep your spirit free, play out those dreams. I don't know what you've been told but staying young is the best way of growing old. When everyone around you has lost their grin there can't be much happiness left within. It's time to make an exit don't hang around. Wanna be smiling when they put you in the ground Stay young, stay young, stay young, stay young Don't lose that boy. Save the child. Keep your thoughts. Running wild. I don't know what you've been told but staying young is the best way of growing old. When everyone around you has lost their grin there can't be much happiness left within. It's time to make an exit don't hang around. Wanna be smiling when they put you in the ground Stay young, stay young, stay young, stay young

Well I like killing time after all it's killing me, To murder a day in an idle way is a pleasure that I see, My teacher wrote on my report ‘he has time wasting to an art’, I kept that talent alive and i’ve taken it to heart I always leave till tomorrow, what I could do today, I never rush to get things done and this is what I say Procrastination is a friend of mine, Procrastination is a waste of time! I see myself as a rebel, swimming against the tide. To slow things up, put a spanner in the works and let time slide. You can't save time like it's something to hold. You’d better learn that, before you get old. I always leave till tomorrow, what I could do today, I never rush to get things done and this is what I say Procrastination is a friend of mine, Procrastination is a waste of time! Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll get things done A million different projects are all across the floor. I open up a cupboard and I find a million more. ‘When you going to get that done?!’ Comes the all familiar cry. I might not get it done before I die. I always leave till tomorrow, what I could do today, I never rush to get things done and this is what I say Procrastination is a friend of mine, Procrastination is a waste of time! Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll get things done Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll get things done Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll get things done

I had a long conversation with a man in a station about ‘who knows what?’, Spent days in a cafe with a packet of fags and a coffee pot, I wandered round the park till the day went dark and there was nothing left to see And still that question keeps running round my head, ‘What’s life meant to be?’ I was given words of wisdom by a traveller out at sea, who read my palm to me, Persuaded into church, to take the blood of Christ and sing a psalm. I took my future from the Gypsy Rose, who read my palm to me And still that question keeps running round my head, ‘What’s life meant to be?’ ‘What’s life meant to be?’ It might be clear to you but it's not to me. ‘What’s life meant to be?’ I can't see the wood for the trees Well I've read many books about the meaning of life, I've been from A-Z Spoke to a Sufi and a Mystic and a Priest but I don't know what they said. I’ve tried meditation and quite a lot of drugs, to see what I could see. But still that question keeps a running round my head, ‘What’s life meant to be?’ ‘What’s life meant to be?’ It might be clear to you but it's not to me. ‘What’s life meant to be?’ I can't see the wood for the trees ‘What’s life meant to be?’ It might be clear to you but it's not to me. ‘What’s life meant to be?’ I can't see the wood for the trees

Drink Drink Drink just makes me lonely, drink drink drink just makes me blue. Every time I reach the bottom of my glass, all I think about is you. Drink Drink Drink just makes me lonely, drink drink drink just makes me blue. Every time I reach the bottom of my glass, all I think about is you. In the states they drink moonshine and it aint no friend at all. It picks you up and drops you down and puts you on the floor. Bourbon and Rye are pretty fine you can be sure, but they’re guaranteed to get you kicked out of the door. Drink Drink Drink just makes me lonely, drink drink drink just makes me blue. Every time I reach the bottom of my glass, all I think about is you. The Russians drink vodka to keep the cold at bay, drown their sorrows and see through the day. Greeks drink Ouzo in the midday sun, either way the outcome’s not much fun. Drink Drink Drink just makes me lonely, drink drink drink just makes me blue. Every time I reach the bottom of my glass, all I think about is you. The German’s look for answers in a bottle of Schnapps. The French seek questions from an Absinthe cap. Aussies they'll drink anything to while away the hours. Either way is going to end in tears. Drink Drink Drink just makes me lonely, drink drink drink just makes me blue. Every time I reach the bottom of my glass, all I think about is you.

I was walking down a road I’d walked a thousand times before, when I came across some shoes there on the ground. A voice from behind shouted ‘son they're bad news!’, you’ll be wearing a dead mans shoes. These words I ignored as the size was just fine and look, well it was just mine. A more stunning pair of brogues, you’d never hope to see, and so what if they're a dead man's shoes. I was walking in a dead man’s, walking in a dead man’s, walking in a dead man’s, walking in a dead man's, walking in a dead man's, walking in a dead man's shoes. Men stepped aside, and women swooned as i walked into to a room. I had power and presence I’d never felt before and an air that opened every door. Our souls they connected, our futures laced up tight, as I danced into the night. I saw life afresh, drew strength from every breath, I was dancing in a dead man’s shoes. I was dancing in a dead man’s, dancing in a dead man’s, dancing in a dead man’s, dancing in a dead man's, dancing in a dead man's, dancing in a dead man's shoes. Those shoes took me to bars, I’d never, ever been, they showed me sights that i had never seen. It was like looking in another person’s mind, I was excited to see what I would find. My world had changed, and I basked in the glory of the man whose shoes I was in. Then out from the shadows came a man with a gun to put pay to all my fun. When they found Jose dead with a knife in his back, there was only one thing missing they didn't get back. ‘A beautiful pair of brogues’ he said, with a snigger. And then he pulled the trigger! I was dying in a dead man’s, dying in a dead man’s, dying in a dead man’s, dying in a dead man's, dying in a dead man's, dying in a dead man's shoes.

about

'Walking, Dancing, Dying', as well as being an allegory for life, are words taken from the band’s headline track 'Dead Man's Shoes'. These 9 original songs (written by Matt Taylor) were all recorded, live, in one day. Backing vocals were added as an overdub but everything else went down in one go. They were performed live as a group in the beautiful room at Middle Farm Studios. Engineer Peter Miles recorded and mixed it all the old fashioned way on 24 track tape on Sept 11th 2022.
The band are extremely proud of this body of work and of the way it has been captured in the studio. They can't wait to share it.
